So, Los Angeles has approved the building of a new development near the almost iconic Capitol Records building. The condo development, planned for 6230 Yucca Boulevard, was part of some big hubbub earlier this summer. So, Last.fm, always on the verge of the new, launched their Artist Royalty Program back in January, allowing unsigned musicians to collect royalties when their music is loaded into Last.fm’s music brain and then streamed by it’s users; actually i think anybody can listen. On his sophomore album, David Ford takes his diary, empties it out, and tries to convey to the listener the turmoil of his new-found self-awareness and wanting for things that may have been, up until now, unattainable. He swimmingly croons through a sea of relationship-laden tracks as if David Gray was sitting on a lifeguard tower ready to jump in and save him with some of his own British electro-pop styled mouth-to-mouth.
