Death Cab for Cutie, Neil Young and the New EP

Ahh Autumn….when the weather tempers a bit, the leaves turn to the vibrant oranges and yellows (or so we hear out here on the West Coast), and indie music feels right or better. Snug. Like that sweater you have buried in that drawer full of your cold weather clothes. With the onset of Autumn also comes the end of the Summer Concerts. Well, my friend, fear not. eargoggles favorite Death Cab For Cutie has come to the rescue.

DCFC is heading out and taking their latest album’s songs with them; that is not all though. If you love Narrow Stairs but just can’t get enough, you’re in luck. Rhapsody has an exclusive live EP KFOG Private Concert streaming. The session was recorded live at KFOG this past June, and includes the tracks (this is the order they appear on the release) “Brothers on a Hotel Bed,” “Grapevine Fires,” “Talking Bird,” “Photobooth,” and “I Will Possess Your Heart.” Follow the jump below:

Autumn also brings with it DCFC’s tour to promote world-wide, and a little closer to home, the aforementioned EP and their latest LP Narrow Stairs. Not only will they be hitting up Europe and some major venues like New York’s Radio City Music Hall, but they are scheduled to open for Neil Young for some Canadian stops (Wilco will link up with Young, following DCFC).

The best station on Television, Current TV, recently had a couple of “pods” on Death Cab that were a good watch as well. –here

“Open Windows” was a Current TV exclusive documentary looking at the recording of Death Cab for Cutie’s #1 album “Narrow Stairs,” the final days at home in Seattle for the band before they embarked on their 2008 tour, and their first shows playing the new songs in front of fans, just after the album dropped, for the first time ever.

  1. I hadn’t heard any death cab for a while, finally they bring out some new stuff. I was listening to some of the artists on The Hotel Cafe tour, they have good stuff on there.
